Debjit Mukherjee: The Election Commission of India on Wednesday announced the election schedule for Nagaland, Meghalaya and Tripura legislative assemblies.
Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said with the announcement of the poll schedule the Model Code of Conduct has come into effect in the three states.
The tenure of the Nagaland assembly was to expire on March 12, the tenure of the Meghalaya assembly is to end on March 15 and the Tripura assembly tenure is to end on March 22.
Tripura Assembly Election – February 16 and the counting of votes will happen on March 2
Meghalaya Assembly Election – February 27 and the counting of votes will happen on March 2
Nagaland Assembly Election – February 27 and the counting of votes will happen on March 2
