News Desk: 243 people have been killed in Gaza in the last 24 hours alone, according to a health ministry spokesperson, bringing the death toll to at least 9,770. Another 24,808 people are injured with 2,660 missing, they said.
4,800 of those killed were children, spokesperson Ashraf Alqudrah added — putting the figure for children dead at just under 50% of the total toll.
1,400 people have also been killed in Israel, mainly on Oct. 7, the day of Hamas’ terror attacks.
