Sk Md Imran , Medinipur : On Thursday and Friday, a discussion meeting on prevention of human trafficking was held at the Ashoka Hotel in New Delhi on the initiative of the National Child Protection Commission of India. Nobel Prize winning social worker Kailash Satyarthi delivered the opening speech as the chief guest in this discussion meeting. Headmaster of Golar Sushila Vidyapith of Keshpur Block under Paschim Medinipur District Suresh Kumar Poriya was invited to participate in this discussion meeting in recognition of his special achievements in child marriage. Here Golar Sushila Vidyapeeth was awarded for taking a special role in preventing child marriage.
It is noted that the girls of Kanyashree Club of this school have already been awarded by the District administration and the State Government for taking a special role in preventing child marriage. West Bengal Child Protection Commission member Sudeshna Roy and CID Deputy Superintendent Rashid Anwar participated in the panel discussion from West Bengal. National Child Protection Commission Member Secretary Rupali Banerjee Singh delivered the welcome speech and “Key Note Address” was given by Jatiya Shishu. Pyank Kanungo is the Chairperson of the Security Commission. Chairperson of National Women’s Commission Rekha Verma, Director General of Railway Protection Force Sanjay Chander were present as guests of honor in the discussion meeting. In this discussion meeting, officers of police departments of various states, officials of Child Protection Commission, BSF, RPF, SSB officials, various Selected representatives from various sectors of society including representatives of voluntary organizations were present. In the two-day discussion meeting, various aspects of human trafficking prevention were discussed. In this context, child marriage prevention is also given special importance.
