Debjit Mukherjee: “The party’s top leadership will not object to an alliance with the Congress in Bengal in the Lok Sabha polls” CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury gave the green signal for an alliance with the Congress in the Lok Sabha polls on the party’s foundation day on Monday. He said that the Modi government can be ousted only if the left democratic and secular forces in Bengal unite and fight against the BJP and the Trinamool.
He said “How Bengal took a leading role in ousting the Vajpayee government in 2004, we have to take that path this time too. If Bengal can’t do it, the country can’t do it”.
“An anti-BJP alliance like the UPA will be formed after the Lok Sabha elections” he added.
