Kashmir police arrested student for 11 year old article

News Desk: Storm of controversy raging across the country. Question rising “Is government trying to put shackles on free thinking and opposition voices?”

On Sunday, Kashmir police arrested Abdul Ala Fazili, a 39-year-old PhD student of Kashmir University Pharmaceutical Science.

But why? It is learned that besides his studies, he also writes about the political situation in Kashmir. Problems are regarding his 2011 article “Breaking the chains of slavery” in an online news magazine “The Kashmir Wala”.

The newly formed State Investigation Agency of Jammu and Kashmir Police claimed that the article was provocative and treasonous.

At the same time, the detectives also searched the house of Fahad Shah, the editor of ‘The Kashmir Wala’. Investigators claimed that they found several laptops and a hard drive, along with provocative documents.
