News Desk: TMC storm continues in Bengal. The ruling party won the by-election in both Ballygunge and BJP stronghold Asansol.
In Ballygunge, TMC candidate Babul Supriya won by 20,030 votes. CPM candidate Saira Shah Halim is in second place in this constituency. However, the Left supporters are happy with their victory in former chief minister Buddhadev Bhattacharya’s ward. Meanwhile, TMC occupied Asansol for the first time.
Expressing happiness over the victory of the candidates, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee tweeted “I sincerely thank the electors of the Asansol Parliamentary Constituency and the Ballygunge Assembly Constituency for giving decisive mandate to AITC party candidates. We consider this to be our people’s warm Shubho Nababarsho gift to our Ma- Mati- Manush organization. Salute to the voters for reposing faith in us, yet again”
