News Desk: A research paper of the World Bank highlighted “Between 2011 and 2019, India’s poor population declined by 12.3%”.

The authors claimed that from 2011 to 2019, the poverty rate in rural areas of the country has decreased by about 14.7% and in urban areas by 7.9%. In 2011, India’s extremely poor population was 22.5%, while in 2019, India’s overall extreme poverty rate came down to 10.2%.
