Debjit Mukherjee: The Supreme Court on Monday granted relief to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s nephew and TMC General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee – who moved the top court challenging the ED’s summons issued in connection with a money laundering case linked to the alleged coal scam in the state.
A bench, headed by Chief Justice U.U. Lalit and comprising Justice S. Ravindra Bhat extended protection from the arrest for Banerjee and also permitted him to travel abroad.
