Bengal post-poll violence: CBI issued summons to TMC MLA Aditi Munshi’s husband Debraj Chakraborty

Debjit Mukherjee, Kolkata: CBI issued summons to TMC MLA Aditi Munshi’s husband Debraj Chakraborty in connection with a post-poll violence case in the state, i.e., death of of a local BJP leader Prasenjit Das. Chakraborty, a singer-turned politician and TMC legislator from Rajarhat-Gopalpur Assembly, has been asked to be present at CBI’s central government office (CGO) complex office at Salt Lake by Tuesday afternoon.

It is to be noted, soon after the results for the 2021 state Assembly polls were announced, the body of a local BJP leader, Prasenjit Das, was found hanging at Kestopur area of Kolkata. The CBI, after taking charge of the investigation, made a spot visit of the place where Das’s body was recovered and also talked to the members of his family.
