News Desk: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee assured farmers of the state that she’ll do her best to help the farmers get their dues from the center. In an open letter to farmers of West Bengal, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that farmers were supposed to get Rs 18,000/- but they are getting very less. She even claimed that farmers wouldn’t have got that also if state didn’t fight.
On Thursday, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced sending of money to the accounts of farmers in the state. It has been informed that from Friday, a total of 2,000 will be paid directly to the farmers’ accounts in three installments. In a letter issued from the Chief Minister’s Office the day before, he addressed all the farmers, says “We have applied to Delhi to recover the money due to all the farmers who applied for it. You deserved 18,000 rupees. But getting much less. You wouldn’t get that much if we didn’t fight for you. We will continue to fight for your dues”
She also reminded that the state government had launched Krishak Bandhu scheme in 2018. A year later, the central government’s PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme was launched. She also promised to gradually increase the facilities of the state government’s Krishak Bandhu scheme.
After returning to the government, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee wrote a letter to the Prime Minister demanding to send money to the farmers’ accounts.
