Debjit Mukherjee, Kolkata: To kick off this year’s Durga Puja activities, today Bhavanipur 75 Palli heralded the autumnal ritual with Khuti Puja on Sunday at 1/1C, Devendra Ghosh Road, near Netaji Bhavan Metro Station.
Honorable Mayor of Kolkata Firhad Hakim, Agriculture Minister Sovandeb Chattopadhyay, MLA Debashish Kumar, Samajsevak Karthik Banerjee and various councilors were present on the occasion.
Club Secretary Subir Das said “We have had huge success and multiple awards which are encouraging us to do better. This time the main focus will be celebrating the UNESCO recognition of Durga Puja in Kolkata. Due to this recognition we are expecting a lot of visitors from abroad”.
“We are confident enough that people will appreciate our worship” he added.
