ED arrested NCP leader Nawab Malik; Mamata Banerjee assured Sharad Pawar of all possible support

News Desk: The ED on Wednesday put NCP leader Nawab Malik under arrest after questioning him in a money laundering probe linked to the activities of the Mumbai underworld, fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim and his aides. They took him to a government hospital for medical check up and produced him before the special PMLA court. Senior counsel Amit Desai and Taraq Sayed argued for Malik.

The minister told the court from the witness box “ED officials came to my residence and forcibly took me to their office. Later, they handed me the summons and told me I am arrested”

The NCP leader made it clear that he’ll not bow down and will expose everyone. “Jhukenge nahi, darenge nahi, expose karenge (we will not bow down, won’t fear, will expose all)” Malik said. Soon after, he also shared a tweet making a similar statement.

Meanwhile, NCP workers gathered outside the Enforcement Directorate office and started raising slogans in support of Malik.

After his arrest, West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee called up NCP chief Sharad Pawar and assured him of all possible help in connection with the case.
