Indian restaurant closed for barring a hijab wearing woman from entering the restaurant

News Desk: Bahrain’s Tourism and Exhibition Authority (BTEA) has closed down a three-and-a-half-decade-old Indian restaurant for barring a woman from entering the restaurant wearing a hijab.

BTEA said “We are against any incident that discriminates between the people. Therefore, everyone is advised to abide by the rules of the country”

This incident faced severe criticisms on social media. Restaurant authorities have apologized, but Bahrain’s tourism ministry said that the investigation will continue.
