Kolkata police issued ‘look out’ notice against suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma

Debjit Mukherjee, Kolkata: For not appearing before Kolkata Police for investigation, Kolkata police on Saturday issued a ‘look out’ notice against suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma for her comment on Prophet Muhammad.

Earlier, Narkeldanga police station had asked Nupur to be present on June 20 and Amherst Street police station asked her to be present on June 25 but she didn’t appear before the police stations stating risk on her life and sought more time.

In addition, TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee on Saturday took to Twitter and slammed BJP for the Udaipur killing, which took place due to Nupur Sharma’s comments, and also posted pictures showing the culprit with BJP leaders. He said “NO, they don’t want UNITY. No, they don’t want HARMONY. No, they don’t want DEMOCRACY. THEY WANT TO DIVIDE THE NATION. Responsible for spewing hate, unleashing propaganda & divisive politics, @BJP4India is DIRECTLY LINKED to the GRUESOME #UdaipurHorror”.
