News Desk: He saw four super wins, but there is no rest for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Hours after winning assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Manipur, Goa and Uttarakhand, PM Modi sounded a poll bugle in Gujarat, holding a mega roadshow in the state on Friday.
Donning a saffron-coloured cap, PM Modi flashed a victory sign as his cavalcade moved past the crowd that had gathered to greet him on the way.
People chanted Jai Shree Ram’ and “Bharat Mata ki Jai’ as PM Modi waved at them. Some groups were also seen performing their traditional dance during the event.
Hundreds of other people on the other side of the rope held national flags and cheered for PM Modi during the mega-roadshow. Among them was a young man who had painted himself in tri-colour.
PM Modi’s two-day visit to Gujarat is said to be a soft start to campaigns for the assembly elections slated for later this year, BJP sources said.
The roadshow was planned from the Ahmedabad airport to the BJP’s state office in Gandhinagar.
During his two-day visit, PM Modi will inaugurate the ‘Khel Mahakumbh’ sporting event at a stadium in Ahmedabad, and address the first convocation of Rashtriya Raksha University located at Lavad in Gandhinagar district as its chief guest.
