West Bengal: CM Mamata Banerjee slams center over no financial help in organising Sagar Mela

News Desk: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has accused the Modi government of deprivation in organizing the Sagar Mela. She claimed that the state government did not get any financial help from the center for organizing this fair, but the center is active when it comes to Kumbh Mela.

On Tuesday, she went to Gangasagar on a three-day visit. She checked the preparations and claimed that 20-30 lakh people visit the Ganga Sagar Mela every year. After that she went to worship at Kapil Muni’s ashram. From there, she also attended the Bharat Sebashram Sangh. Comparing Kumbh Mela with Sagar, she has accused the center of deprivation. She claimed that the center has extended a helping hand in organizing the Kumbh Mela, but not for Gangasagar. “The center does not pay for the Ganges. Earlier there was no arrangement to stay here. But now all arrangements have been made”

Ganga Sagar Mela will be held from 8th to 16th January. On the other hand, the date of the holy bath on 14th January is from 11:46 am to 5:07 am the next day. Before that, last minute work is underway.
