Md Nawaj Shorif, Malda: Malda girl Alisha topped on English soil too.
Alisha Ibkar was selected as a Commonwealth Scholar and moved to England. Last year, she studied Master Course in Applied Theater under the Commonwealth Committee. From the beginning, Alisha caught the attention of England’s Warwick University. She was specially invited to the annual convocation and was felicitated and recognized by the University of Warwick at a special event.
Alisha is a resident of Nayagram under Rajnagar Gram Panchayat of Mothabari Block. Her mother and father currently live in Kaliachak due to employment. Her mother Tanya Rahmat is a bright name in the district in the field of education and culture. Working in Rajnagar and a special personality in the homeopathy world, she is working relentlessly to spread knowledge. Alisha’s only sister is currently doing research after studying Geology from Presidency.
Alisha has always been a bright student. During her student life, she was awarded by NTPC as the best student for her achievements in all categories of sports, cultural competitions, painting etc. From Aligarh Muslim University, she passed with high marks in the science department. Taking English as a challenge, she came first in every semester exam and came first in the final exam. She was awarded the ‘Papa Miya Padma Bhushan’ for receiving the gold medal for the best drawing artist and the gold medal for the best writer. Then she got a chance to do a master’s degree in English at Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru University after taking the national level exam again. After completing her master’s degree, she started a research course in English at Jamia Millia University, Delhi. In the meantime, when the vacancy notice of English-Professor was published in the central government Aligarh Muslim University, Alisha Ibkar joined as a professor in 2017. Being honored and rewarded for success, but never stopped from the indomitable desire to study and the dream of conquering the world. Even on the soil of England, Alisha was the first to prove once again that no matter where the birth is, dreams and perseverance can bring any person to any peak of success.
