Debjit Mukherjee: Margaret Alva was announced as the vice-presidential candidate against NDA candidate Jagdeep Dhankar at a press conference after a meeting of opposition parties at NCP supremo Sharad Pawar’s residence on Sunday.
However, no representative of TMC was present at the meeting. Even the TMC is reluctant to open its mouth about the vice-presidential candidate. It will be finalized by the party only after the meeting with the leading MPs on 21st. However, representatives of several opposition parties including CPM, Congress, Shiv Sena were present in the meeting.
