Performing path drama to prevent child marriage by Keshpur Girls Student

SK Mahammad Imran, Keshpur: The Kanyashree Club of Keshpur girls’ school has adopted a novel approach to prevent child marriage. On Monday noon, the girls’ school students presented a path play to prevent child marriage at Keshpur BDO office premises.
Basically, this kind of initiative was taken by the school to make the common people aware about Child Marriage. Besides, through the play, it has been explained that underage marriage is a legally punishable crime.

On this day, the school girls took out a colorful procession from the school premises and appeared at the BDO office premises and presented a street play.

School teacher said, on the invitation of Keshpur BDO Dipak Kumar Ghosh, on the occasion of Kanyashree Day, the schoolgirls held a huge rally on child marriage awareness and sensitized the common people through the play. From the rally, the students raised various slogans against child marriage.

Keshpur BDO Dipak Kumar Ghosh, Joint BDO Prasenjit Nandi, Block Social Welfare Department Officer Piali Kuila, Headmistress of Girls’ School and other teachers were present.

The trend of child marriage has increased tremendously since the lockdown due to the Corona pandemic. People’s income has decreased. Poor people want to be freed by handing over their marriageable daughters to suitable husbands. But they don’t know how much harm they are doing to their own daughters by marrying at an immature age.
