Debjit Mukherjee, Murshidabad: Violence in Raninagar after the meeting of Pradesh Congress President Adhirranjan Chowdhury. Left-Congress workers and supporters staged a protest around Raninagar police station after the meeting, alleging that people were prevented from going to the procession. Stones were also pelted from the gate of the police station. Several police personnel were injured in the incident. Police fired several rounds of tear gas shells to control the situation. Lathi charge also took place.
