SFI-DYFI rally in Kolkata against corruption by state government

Debjit Mukherjee, Kolkata: Left students took to the streets accusing the state government of corruption. Dharmatala was blocked by left student organizations SFI and DYFI during protest. Investigation into the death of student leader Anis Khan, multiple corruption allegations against the state government, these were the reasons for today’s rally.

One of the speakers at Tuesday’s rally was Meenakshi Mukherjee. Meenakshi said from the stage “In the last 10 years, Bengal has gone backward. Every minister of state government is corrupt. Crores of rupees are being recovered from the house of the education minister. Jobs were sold in exchange for money during this period. Today’s protest is against this corruption. Against the corrupt, nepotistic government led by Mamata Banerjee”.

On this day, the procession with the demand of ‘Insaf’ proceeded towards Dharmatala from Sealdah and Howrah stations. The rally was originally supposed to be on the Y channel. Later it was moved in front of Victoria House. The left claims that this protest will continue until the end of this corrupt government. It is warned from the march that its intensity will increase in the coming days.
