News Desk: Indian National Congress under pressure. On one hand, fear of losing the ‘main opposition’ badge and on the other hand, the Shiv Sena condemns the role of the Congress in the opposition alliance. All in all, the India National Congress is on the verge of extinction.
The BJP reached new heights in the Rajya Sabha. The membership of the saffron party in the upper house of parliament reached 100. The Congress currently has 29 seats. In the next 5-6 months, about 60 more seats are expected to be vacant in the Rajya Sabha. It depends on the election whether the Congress will have the main opposition party badge or not.
TMC is the third largest party in the Rajya Sabha at the moment. They hold 13 seats. DMK has 10 MPs and AAP has 8 MPs in the upper house of parliament.
In matters of Opposition Alliance, Shiv Sena mouthpiece ‘Saamna’ directly condemned the role of the Congress and said “It is not possible to unite all the opposition parties without changing the leadership of the Congress. Mamata Banerjee is the one who has tried to unite all the progressive forces”.
