Explosion before PM Modi’s J&K visit, ‘Kashmir writing new history of development’ says PM Modi

News Desk: PM Modi laid the foundation stone of a 20,000 crore development project at a public meeting in Jammu’s Samba on Sunday.

He said “Young people of the valley, trust me. I will not allow your life to be the same as that of your forefathers”.

“In the last seven decades since independence, private investment in Kashmir has been only Rs 17,000 crore. But in the last two years, that figure has reached Rs 38,000 crore. Kashmir is writing a new history of development. We have made Babasaheb Ambedkar’s dream come true. Earlier, more than two hundred laws of the country were not applicable in Jammu and Kashmir. But after the repeal of Section 370, those laws have come into force. Earlier, it used to take 2-3 weeks for government files to reach here from Delhi. As a result, from women to poor people, everyone has benefited equally”.

There was a terrible explosion only 12 km away from his meeting place. According to police sources, the blast took place in Laliana field in Bishna but no militant connection have been identified so far. Attempts are being made to find out if there is any other reason behind the blast.
