News Desk: “Ram is a fictional character” former Bihar chief minister Jiten Ram Majhi made such a controversial remark.
Speaking on the occasion of BR Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, he said, “Ram ate fruit from the hands of a Dalit woman named Sabari. Then why can’t the upper caste people follow this example? Only then can untouchability be eradicated”.
After this, came the controversial remark. He said “I don’t think Ram was a god. He is a fictional character from Balmiki’s Ramayana and Tulsidas’s Ramcharitamanas. These two books provide valuable moral lessons”.
He faced severe criticism for his remarks from an angry saffron camp.
