“From the ongoing academic year, ‘moral science’ is being included in the curriculum of school children”: BC Nagesh

News Desk: From the ongoing academic year, ‘moral science’ is being included in the curriculum of school children in Karnataka. BC Nagesh, Karnataka’s primary and secondary education minister, said religious texts from different religions – the Panchatantra, the Ramayana, the Mahabharata, the Bhagavad Gita and the Quran – would be part of the moral lesson. He further said that the expert committee will prepare the text. However, exams will not be taken on this subject.

Regarding the state’s madrasas, the Karnataka primary and secondary education minister said “The madrasa authorities have not made any request to the government, but the parents are talking about general education there so that they can compete with students from other schools and can take part in competitive exams”.
