First Ever Grade “A” by NAAC in three Districts of Malda, Uttar Dinajpur and Dakshin Dinajpur
Natun Gati, Kaliachak: In the mid-Bengal only Kaliachak College is accredited as an “A” grade institution of higher education at the national level. The National Assessment, and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore, awarded grade “A” to Kaliachak College after the assessment in the 3rd cycle. The target of Dr Nazibar Rahaman, the principal of this college, is achieved because of his inclusive type of management abilities and cool-minded control of the issues of such a rural and backward institution of higher education, leaving behind all the bigger and older colleges of the neighbouring three districts. National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) is an autonomous organisation of the University Grants Commission (UGC) under the Higher Education Department of the Government of India. The NAAC assessed the all-round development of the college through seven criteria. Curriculum enrichment, syllabus implementation, the scenario of quality teaching-learning, students’ progression in higher education, research, along with their achievements in different fields, development and contribution to the educational world through research and consultancy services, to promote the student to be eligible for the job market, development and use of the library in blended mode, infrastructural development, innovative teaching-learning process through latest technological support, transparency in accounts, best practices in the institution, above all the skilful and adept leadership of the principal in the management of all the affairs of the institution, support of the society, industry institution collaboration were the fundamental points for assessment. The assessment process was conducted online and offline through data validation and Peer Team Visits. After the declaration of the result on the NAAC’s website, the whole Kaliachak College family and concerned education-loving people expressed a high level of joy and happiness for the highest grade achieved by the institution ever first in the three districts of Malda, Uttar and Dakshin Dinajpur. Dr Nazibar Rahaman, the principal, expressed gratitude to the teaching-non-teaching staff, students, ex-students, Governing Body, president, members, the affiliating University of Gour Banga, the DPI, Government of West Bengal, and all other education-loving people of the area for their cordial cooperation and constant support. The faculty members, students, alumni members, media persons, and other educationally aware people expressed heartfelt pleasure. The faculty members support staff, students, exstudents, governing body members, University authorities, and principals of other colleges expressed wholehearted congratulations to Dr Nazibar Rahaman, the principal, for achieving such a great position in the institute.
