NTPC Farakka Organized Press Meet 2023-24

Natun Gati, Farakka: In a bid to maintain strong relations with local and national media, NTPC Farakka organized a Press Meet on June 10, 2023. The event witnessed a significant turnout with media delegates from all neighboring districts of NTPC Project from West Bengal and Jharkhand.

The day began with a visit to the RLI premises, where the media representatives had the opportunity to interact with the Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM) students. The GEM students extended a warm welcome to the visitors. Two short video clips that highlighted the memorable moments of GEM 2022 and the ongoing activities of GEM 2023 were shown to the delegates. The media delegates commended NTPC’s efforts to host such a transformative residential workshop for young girls.

Post-lunch, the media delegates congregated at the Administrative Building Auditorium for a meet with the NTPC Farakka Management. Shri Ramakanta Panda, HoP Farakka, welcomed the media delegates. He expressed sincere gratitude for their continued support in spotlighting the positive initiatives taken by NTPC Farakka and in making these initiatives known to the local populations.

The presentation by Shri Amod Kumar Singh, DGM (P&S), presented an overview of the Farakka power plant, including safety and environmental achievements, and underscored NTPC Farakka’s commitment to CSR initiatives.

Following the presentation, a Q&A session allowed reporters to engage with key NTPC Farakka officials including Shri Bijay Manjul, GM(O&M); Shri Satheesh S, GM(BE and EMG); Shri N K Sharma, GM(Operation); Shri P V Kameswara Rao, GM(Maintenance); Shri Alok Kumar Ranbir, HoHR; and Shri V K Kejriwal, AGM(TS). Media representatives lauded the positive strides taken by NTPC Farakka in CSR, environmental, and safety aspects.

The successful coordination of the event reaffirms NTPC Farakka’s dedication to open dialogue with media, continually striving for transparency and community engagement.
