News Desk: The Ghazipur (Indiranagar) police arrested an accused for allegedly conning a woman and raping her.
The police earlier arrested the main accused in this case.
A woman lodged complaint with the Aliganj police station in November in which she alleged that she was conned by Navazis Bin Shams who changed his identity to come close to her.
He lured the victim for the marriage, deprived her of Rs 2,49,000 and raped her. Navazis also introduced the victim to his brother Aasim Ahmad.
ADCP, north zone, Prachi Singh said the police arrested Aasim Ahmad on Monday while the main accused Navazis was arrested earlier.
In another incident, Aminabad police arrested an accused Rajendra Kanaujia, 28, on Tuesday for allegedly harassing and sexually violating a minor in a marriage party.
