52 th Annual conference of Indian Anthropological Society

Shabnam Sultana, Kolkata: 52th Annual conference of Indian Anthropological Society and International conference has been going on 22-24 Nov, 2002 at Tripura university in colleboration with ‘Centre of study of Social exclusion and inclusive Policy’. The theme of the conference is ‘ Sustainable development Goals 2030: Role of Anthropology in Social Inclusion and Tribal Development’. 

 

During the inauguration Deputy Chief Minister of Tripura Jishnu Dev Verma Ji, HOD of SSE & IP and Convenor of the conference Dr. Rajes Chakraborty, Vice president of IAS Prof. Arup Ratan Bandopadhyay, Vice chancellor of the Tripura University Prof. Ganga Prasad Prasain, Director of IGNOU Dr. Arabindo Mahato; Secretary of the Indian Anthropological Society Prof. Subir Kumar Biswas were present as guest of the inaugural session.

 

In this conference, 124 international and national Scholars presented their valuable research paper. During this period, three memorial lectures of pioneering Anthropologists delivered by the three eminent Scholars of Anthropology. A young Scholars award also given the Indian Anthropological Society to Associate professor of Sociology Dr. Deblina De.

This conference will be helpful to the young Students and Scholars of the Social sciences.
