Debjit Mukherjee: Varanasi court today agreed to hear the case of five Hindu women who want to pray at a shrine inside the Gyanvapi mosque in Varanasi, next to the famous Kashi Viswanath temple. Their petition will be heard on September 22.
The Varanasi District and Sessions Court dismissed the challenge by the Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee against the civil suits. “The court rejected the Muslim side’s petition”, advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain, representing the Hindu side said.
