Debjit Mukherjee: “Manipur violence related CBI cases will be heard in Assam,” bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud directed the Chief Justice of the Guwahati High Court on Friday.
Custody of the arrested, hearing of the accused persons and witnesses will also be held in Guwahati, the apex court said. However, there is no need for hearing in person in all cases. Virtual hearings may also be held. That is why the Supreme Court has also said that the internet should be started wherever it is needed in Manipur.
