Debjit Mukherjee, Kolkata: Bhangar now officially under Kolkata Police. The 10th Division of Kolkata Police is Bhangar Division. It covers eight police stations – Hatishala, Polerhat, Uttar Kashipur, Vijayganj Bazar, Madhavpur, Chandaneshwar, Bodra and Bhangar. Apart from this, a new Bhangar traffic guard has been created to control the traffic of that division.
There are four Assistant Commissioners under the rank of two DCs in the division. Each police station has OC, additional OC, ten sub-inspectors, four women sub-inspectors, two sergeants, 12 assistant sub-inspectors, three women ASIs, 80 constables, 30 women constables, 12 drivers. There is one AC, two inspectors, 15 sergeants, 15 ASIs, 100 constables in Bhangar traffic guard.
