Debjit Mukherjee: This time the allies are angry with ‘Maratha strong man’ Sharad Pawar! Sharad Pawar fueled speculation in a surprise meeting with his nephew and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in Pune on Saturday. However, the NCP supremo said, “There was no secret meeting. Ajit is my nephew. I am the eldest member of the family. There is nothing to speculate about this meeting.”
Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena was outraged by this. Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut said, “Sharad Pawar is saying that Ajit is his nephew so he can meet him. Now my question is, if so, why are your supporters fighting among themselves on the streets? When party supporters are getting beaten up, sitting with party leaders is not acceptable.”
