Debjit Mukherjee, Kolkata: Chaos in connection with ABVP’s ‘Jadavpur Bachao Abhiyan’. Police stopped ABVP’s procession near Jadavpur police station on the complaint that there was no permission. But ABVP workers and supporters were unwilling to accept it. As soon as the procession went ahead after pushing the police barrier, a scuffle started between the police and ABVP workers and supporters. Jadavpur police station area became a battlefield. The agitators were taken in prison vans. Police also arrested ABVP supporters.
Opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari came to Jadavpur after 4 pm. There is Agnimitra Paul too. They participated in the procession.
