NTPC Farakka organised Closing ceremony of GEM 2023

Natun Gati, Farakka: The grand closing ceremony of the Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM) 2023 took place on 25th June 2023 at Rabindra Bhawan, NTPC Farakka, marking the culmination of a transformative journey for 118 young girls. The event was graced by esteemed guests, including Chief Guest Shri DSGSS Babji, RED(ER1), and Guest of Honour Smt D Ratna Kumari, President Sujata Ladies Club, along with Shri Ramakanta Panda, Head of Project Farakka, and Smt Niva Panda, President ULC.

The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries, followed by the singing of enchanting NTPC geet by the talented GEM participants. Shri Ramakanta Panda, HoP Farakka in his welcome address, highlighted the 28day long residential GEM program’s significance as an exemplary CSR initiative by NTPC, fostering national empowerment and promoting equity.

The event showcased the remarkable talents of the GEM girls, including an aspirational song performance, a screening of the GEM Farakka movie, captivating self-defense demonstrations, enthralling dance and yoga skill presentations, and a thought-provoking skit on Bal Vivah. Female employees of NTPC were felicitated with International Women’s Day(IWD) awards.

The GEM girls shared their transformative four-week experiences at Farakka, showcasing their personal growth and empowerment. Shri DSGSS Babji, RED(ER1) in his address, lauded the exceptional performances by the GEM girls and urged parents to continue supporting their daughters’ dreams.

The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates, recognizing the participants’ dedication and accomplishments, followed by a heartfelt vote of thanks.

The Girl Empowerment Mission 2023 has left an indelible mark on all those involved, fostering empowerment, resilience, and personal growth among the young girls.
