“Reduction in excise duty on fuel will reduce the price of essential commodities by at least 10%”: CAIT

News Desk: The Confederation of All India Traders estimates that the reduction in excise duty on petrol and diesel will reduce the price of essential commodities by at least 10%.

They said “Most of the daily necessities reach different parts of the country by road. The reduction in fuel price will also reduce the price of daily necessities. The states should also reduce VAT and the trade organisations should also reduce prices so that ordinary people can benefit”.

They added “80% of the daily necessities are supplied by road transport, which is mainly based on petrol and diesel. The cost of transport is calculated in three steps from the warehouses of the companies to the customers. According to the draft, the reduction in central tariffs will reduce the price of goods by at least 10% so that the common people of the country will directly benefit”.
