“Someone misused the password of TMC’s website”: Firhad Hakim

News Desk: TMC leader Firhad Hakim spoke about the protests across West Bengal after the party released its list of candidates for elections to 108 municipalities. He claimed that someone misused the password of TMC’s website and released several candidate lists for February 27 civic polls in West Bengal, creating confusion.

“I think someone misused our trust by giving multiple candidate lists on website. Because no name has been finalised without the consent of state president Subrata Bakshi and our leader Mamata Banerjee. I think some mischief was done, that was corrected later on” Firhad Hakim said.

The TMC leader added that the party will investigate the matter and find out what went wrong.

When asked about Prashant Kishor’s company’s claim that they had nothing to do with the candidate list, Firhad Hakim stated that he did not know anything about it.

Firhad Hakim’s remark comes as massive protests erupted across West Bengal on Friday after the Trinamool Congress (TMC) released its list of candidates for elections to 108 municipalities scheduled on February 27.

Many TMC supporters, who were unhappy with the candidate list, staged demonstrations in many places across the state.

Calling the demonstrations “sad”, Firhad Hakim said “We can understand their feelings, but these kinds of protests have no importance in our party”

Talking about the candidate list for the civic polls, the TMC leader said “This time Partha Chatterjee has done a wonderful job to finalise this list, talking to all heads of districts and taking IPAC’s list under consideration”
