Debjit Mukherjee, Kolkata: State-governor conflict escalates over Raj Bhavan’s directive. A notification issued from the Raj Bhavan on Saturday said that after the chancellor, the entire control of the universities will be in the hands of the vice-chancellor. The State Government can issue any order. However, the vice chancellor is not bound to obey that order. Another order was issued that night which stated that the registrar of the university or any officer could not undertake any work or responsibility without the permission of the vice-chancellor. According to the TMC, the governor is doing this deliberately to get closer to the BJP leadership.
