News Desk: After the murder of TMC leader Bhadu Sheikh, violence erupted at Baktui in Rampurhat. Several homes were set ablaze late on Monday night. It claimed the lives of ten people.
So far, eleven people have been arrested in connection with this. Both the TMC and the police denied political motives behind the incidents.
The state government formed a SIT to probe the violence. Today, BJP MLA’s staged a walkout in the Vidhan Sabha to protest the violence too.
According to the last update, Union Home Minister Amit Shah asked for a report within 72 hours.
