Debjit Mukherjee: Wanindu Hasranga bid farewell to Test cricket at the age of 26. The Sri Lanka Cricket Board has announced his retirement. The SLC said on Twitter, “Sri Lanka Men’s all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga has informed Sri Lanka Cricket that he will retire from playing test cricket.”

Hasranga said, “Next is the Asia Cup. Then there is World Cup. These two events are very important to me. The Asia Cup will be held in our country. The World Cup is on Indian soil. I got success on such wickets in the past. So I am retiring from Tests to test myself in the limited-overs format. I have decided to retire from Test cricket to make my cricketing career longer and perform well in limited overs.”
