West Bengal: Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar calls Bengal a ‘gas chamber of democracy’, TMC minister Firhad Hakim reacts

News Desk: During a programme at Barrackpore’s Gandhighat on Mahatma Gandhi’s death anniversary on Sunday, West Bengal governor Jagdeep Dhankhar asked chief minister Mamata Banerjee to abide by the constitution. This came at a time when the ruling TMC decided to bring censure motion against the governor.

He told reporters “People say that West Bengal became a gas chamber of democracy, I can’t tolerate it. Why will Bengal become a laboratory of violence! However, Nabanna overlooked this and always said all is well”.

Reacting to his statement, TMC minister Firhad Hakim said “Please do not stay in the gas chamber. You can go to Delhi or Rajasthan if you want. We are happy in Bengal under Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee”.
