West Bengal: Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind held a two-day convention in Kolkata, calls for stopping misuse of religion for political gains

News Desk: Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, the largest socio-religious organization of Indian Muslims, held a two-day convention in the state of Kolkata calling on the Indian government to stop misuse of religion for political gains.

Incidences of violence against Muslims are gaining momentum since the rise of Hindu Nationalist government in 2014. The organization accuses the government of giving support and encouragement to anti-Muslim rhetoric in order to isolate them from the mainstream.
