Debjit Mukherjee, Kolkata: West Bengal saw huge protests and demonstrations against the center’s Agneepath scheme on Friday by Left Front mass organisations such as the Students Federation of India (SFI), Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) and Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU).
In the Murshidabad district, SFI and DYFI workers burnt effigies of PM Modi. In Kolkata, youths took out a protest rally from Shyambazar passing to College Street. Protestors alleged that the Central government is compromising national security for immediate political gains. Massive rallies were also seen in other districts of West Bengal.
