West Bengal: A motion of no-confidence was moved against Nupur Sharma in the state assembly

News Desk: A motion of no-confidence was moved against Nupur Sharma in the state assembly on Monday. After Industries Minister Partha Chatterjee submitted the proposal, the Chief Minister appealed to all to support his proposal. The proposal was then passed.

Industries Minister Partha Chatterjee said, “Under the leadership of the Chief Minister of the state, we have taken a leading role in maintaining harmony. However, the way in which attempts have been made to destroy harmony across the country is in fact an attempt to divert attention from employment and development. In the name of religion, an attempt is being made to destroy communal harmony due to remarks made by a BJP spokesperson. Appropriate action should be taken immediately against her for such comments and attempts to provoke”. Then the Chief Minister appealed to all and said “All of you raise your hands and support Partha Da’s proposal”. It was later adopted.

Meanwhile, the suspended BJP leader was summoned to Narkeldanga police station today for her remarks. Nupur Sharma has asked for more than four weeks by email.
