Azaan Controversy: Mumbai police lodged FIR against MNS chief Raj Thackeray

News Desk: Mumbai Police finally lodged FIR against MNS chief Raj Thackeray over the Azaan controversy. 260 MNS workers were also arrested in connection with this case.

Standing in front of his residence on Tuesday, he gave the same warning. He said “I appeal to all Hindus, tomorrow, May 4, if you hear Azaan on loudspeakers, play Hanuman Chalisa on loudspeakers too in those places. Only then will they understand the problem created by loudspeakers”.

Mosques in different parts of Maharashtra have turned off loudspeakers after the MNS chief’s threat. But despite the court order, MNS workers played Hanuman Chalisa on loudspeakers in front of a mosque in Mumbai’s Charkop area and they got arrested. Even after their arrest, Raj made it clear that the movement against playing Azaan on loudspeakers will continue.
