Debjit Mukherjee, North 24 Parganas: There is commotion around INTTUC’s puja at DN 44 bus stand in Bangaon town. This year’s INTTUC’s Vishwakarma Puja highlights incidents like the Odisha train accident, Manipur incident, dengue prevention and economic growth. Photographs of chief minister Mamata Banerjee, TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee and INTTUC State President Ritabrata Banerjee are placed. The poster condemned the Prime Minister for the Manipur incident. The picture of train accident, Howrah station has also been displayed.
The INTTUC leadership said that financial aid and a packet of biryani were given to about 3500 transport workers on this day as Puja bonus. Narayan Ghosh, president of INTTUC’s Bangaon district, said, “This time, bonus was given earlier. The workers are happy about it.” BJP’s Bangaon district president Devdas Mondal condemned this. He said, “The theme of Puja has political content. People don’t like it. BJP will come to power this time too. TMC will be defeated again in Bangaon.”
