News Desk: BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari took a dig at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s upcoming campaign for the Samajwadi Party saying her Hindi is comprehensible and that her image is against Sanatani Hinduism.
On Tuesday, Samajwadi Party vice-president Kiranmay Nanda said that Mamata will campaign for SP in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly poll and that her party Trinamool Congress will not contest the election.
Reacting to this development, Suvendu said, “I don’t know how much Samajwadi Party will benefit from CM Mamata Banerjee’s support. Any party she campaigns for will go in loss”.
The TMC will support Samajwadi Party in the fight against the BJP with Mamata Banerjee holding virtual campaigns along with SP president Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow and Varanasi.
The West Bengal CM will be in Lucknow on February 8 and attend a virtual campaign. Later, she will hold a joint press conference with Akhilesh Yadav.
Calling Banerjee one of the most prominent anti-BJP faces in the country, he said the TMC supremo will also visit Varanasi in February but the date is yet to be fixed.
“Mamata Banerjee is a strong leader and the way she fought against the BJP and defeated it in the West Bengal Assembly Election in 2021 is a lesson for the entire opposition. Her fight was unprecedented. The entire nation saw the fight she had put up against BJP’s juggernaut” he said.
Reacting to this development, West Bengal BJP spokesperson Samik Bhattacharya said the saffron party would like to know if the Samajwadi Party supports the post-poll violence that was unleashed by TMC in Bengal.
