“India will run out of petrol in the next five years”: Nitin Gadkari

Debjit Mukherjee: The Honorable Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari was quoted saying that petrol won’t be in usage in the country in the next five years. He took the example of bio-ethanol, which is being made in Maharashtra’s Vidarbha district, will be used in vehicles.

Nitin Gadkari also cited that Green Hydrogen can also be used, which can be made from deep well water and sold for ₹70 per kg. The Union Minister further purported that India will run out of petrol in the next five years, and post-which usage of this fossil fuel will be banned in the nation. He also mentioned how farmers can contribute in the future as energy providers too, not just food providers.
