Barricades are erected at various crossings. Then suddenly the firing continued. Thirteen Youth Congress workers were killed in those shootings. These ‘martyrs’ are Bandana Das, Murari Chakraborty, Ratan Mandal, Kalyan Bandyopadhyay, Bishwanath Roy, Asim Das, Keshab Bairagi, Srikanth Sharma, Dilip Das, Ranjit Das, Pradeep Das, Mohammad Khaleq, Inu. With the death of these 13 young Congress workers, the state politics became turbulent. The question of who fired the shots at the police has not been resolved even today.
