News Desk: The Medinipur Film Society organized a screening of Japanese films to mark the 70th anniversary of India-Japan diplomatic relations. On this occasion the Japanese movie BALLAD was shown. More than one and a half hundred spectators were fascinated by the pictures. Many viewers requested to see more movies like this.
The film exhibition was organized in collaboration with the Japanese Consulate in Kolkata. Hon’ble Tamura Risa, Vice Consul, Consulate General of Japan – Kolkata was present. Anthropologist Dr. Abhijit Guha, a member of Medinipur Film Society, spoke on India-Japan relations, Japanese cinema and culture in a short introductory program on the occasion. Also present were Shri Barun Mandal, District Information and Culture Officer, West Midnapore, Dr. Golak Maji, Commissioner – Medinipur Municipality, Dr. Vivek Bikash Mandal, Shyamlendu Maiti and many other talented people.
